Bazaars and craft fairs abound at this time of year, hosted by churches and community centers all around our area. But the garage sale hosted this time each year by St. Martin Lutheran Church on Bay Rd. is a bit different; it’s not just a chance to buy gifts for others, but it’s especially good opportunity to pick up some holiday items for your own home.
Plus, it is Santa-approved.
It’s the annual Santa’s Garage Sale, which will take place this year November 12 to 14. The busy elves at St. Martin have been setting up the sale for days already, sorting and pricing donations, and loading up about two dozen long cafeteria tables with holiday lights, wreaths, garland, table decorations, toys, and more. There are even several full-sized Christmas trees.
Here are photos of just a small percentage of the items for sale:

The Santa Garage Sale is, of course, a fundraiser for the church. Proceeds will be used to support St. Martin’s Santa’s Stocking Project, which helps spread Christmas joy to those in need around Webster and the surrounding community; the church’s Little Food Pantry, which provides food and essential items to community members experiencing food insecurity; and to bolster their emergency fund that offers assistance to individuals and families facing unexpected financial hardships.
But the sale is about more than that. For the parishioners at St. Martin, it’s a way to spread a little holiday cheer while helping neighbors in need. With everything priced to sell, the sale also offers an opportunity for those on a tight budget to find affordable decorations and bring a little extra holiday sparkle into their homes.
The Santa’s Garage Sale will take place at St. Martin Lutheran Church on Thursday and Friday Nov. 12 and 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church is located at 813 Bay Rd., Webster. I understand that Santa himself might actually be there for the while on Thuresday morning to welcome early shoppers.
