Now here’s an event I want to pull out for special attention because it’s gonna be a lot of fun, AND it benefits an organization near and dear to my heart, the Women’s Club of Webster.
It’s called Sip, Shop, Savor and Support, and it’s being hosted by Lala of Webster this Thursday, Sept. 24 on behalf of the Women’s Club. It’s an evening of coming together as a community to have fun with friends, meet new people, and benefit a good cause at the same time.
From 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 24, shoppers are asked visit Lala’s and purchase items worth $15 or more to be included in raffle baskets being prepared for the club’s Card and Game Party on Tuesday Sept. 29. The party is one of three big fundraisers the Women’s Club hosts every year, which also include the Christmas Cookie Sale in December at the Webster Public Library, and the Fashion Show every spring.
As a thank you for your donation, shoppers will receive 20% storewide on items over $10 (excluding final sale items).
BUT THERE’S MORE! After you’re done shopping, head next door to Jojo Bistro & Wine Bar for live music, and 20% off your bill when you show them your Lala receipt.
Sounds like a great date night to me.

By the way, the Women’s Club is gearing up for their October meeting, scheduled for Thursday, October 15 at Bill Gray’s Restaurant, 964 Ridge Rd.
Tracy Dennis, Benefits Counselor for the Webster Community Chest, will be the featured speaker. Social time begins at 11:15 a.m., followed by a business meeting at noon, lunch at 12:30 p.m. and Tracy’s presentation at 1 p.m.
Attendees can choose one of two lunch options, a cheeseburger or grilled chicken sandwich. Side dishes will include tater tots, macaroni salad, coffee, soda and dessert. Cost is $20. Please mail your check by Oct. 8, made out to the Women’s Club of Webster, to Mary Malone, 606 Galbro Circle, Webster, 14580.
New members are always welcome, and warm camaraderie is included at no charge!
